Strawberries are picked straight into the retail clamshell, so the clamshell, the tray and the pallet are fixed before the season starts. We supply 1 lb, 2 lb and 700 g PET clamshells from a partner thermoforming plant in Dongguan, China, and manufacture the corrugated trays and master cartons ourselves.
Before you ask for a price, read the duty note: Chinese-made clamshells pay about 40.5% on entry to the United States in October 2026. For standard 1 lb packs a domestic supplier is usually cheaper; we are worth asking for custom shapes, short runs, combined berry programmes and buyers outside the U.S.
Which strawberry clamshell? 1 lb (FX-ST454, 187 × 115 × 80 mm) for everyday U.S. retail, 8 per tray; 2 lb (FX-ST907 or wide FX-ST907W) for family and club packs, 4 per tray; 700 g square (FX-ST700) for Europe and Asia. Match the clamshell to your receiver's tray drawing, then send code, quantity and port.
Vented 1 lb and 2 lb clamshells for the U.S. and Mexican trade (8 × 1 lb or 4 × 2 lb per corrugated tray), plus the square 700 g format used in Europe and Asia.

Shallow bodies so soft berries travel in one or two layers; twin-compartment packs for mixed-berry programmes.

Our 1 lb model FX-ST454 measures 187 × 115 × 80 mm (about 7.4 × 4.5 × 3.1 in); the taller FX-ST454H is 190 × 112 × 88 mm. Eight 1 lb clamshells go in the standard open corrugated tray of about 19.75 × 15.5 × 3.5 in, 120 trays per 48 × 40 in pallet. Check the clamshell against your receiver's tray drawing: a few millimetres decide whether eight fit.
PET containers of Chinese origin (HTS 3923) currently carry 3% MFN duty plus 25% Section 301 (List 3) plus 12.5% Section 301 that applies since July 24, 2026, about 40.5% in total. That usually makes them dearer than clamshells made in the U.S. or Mexico, so they make sense mainly for custom shapes, short runs or formats your current supplier cannot make. Confirm the current rate with your broker.
Mexico has applied higher tariffs to many goods from countries without a trade agreement, including plastics, since January 1, 2026. Exporters operating under IMMEX usually import packaging temporarily because it leaves the country with the fruit; check your programme with your customs agent before ordering.
Yes. We manufacture wax-free corrugated trays and master cartons, and PP corrugated plastic harvest trays, and can quote them matched to the clamshell you choose.
