27 clamshell models for export fruit and vegetables: blueberry 125 g to 500 g, strawberry 1 lb and 2 lb, raspberry and blackberry, cherry and table grape, cherry tomato, avocado and kiwifruit. Shipped with our corrugated flats and master cartons in one container.
Exporters of blueberries, strawberries, cherries and grapes buy packaging in three layers: the retail clamshell, the corrugated flat or tray that holds it, and the pallet. Fuxing Group manufactures corrugated cartons and fruit bags in China, Vietnam and the Philippines and now supplies PET clamshells from a partner thermoforming plant in Dongguan, so the three layers are specified together and arrive in the same container.
Every model below is shown in a real product photo with its outside dimensions, nominal fill and packing count. Codes are Fuxing codes: quote them in your request and we send the drawing, a sample and a price.
We are clear about origin: the clamshells are made in China. That is an advantage for Chile and Peru, which have free trade agreements with China, and a cost to check for the United States and Mexico (see the duty table below).
Which clamshell do I need? Start from the fruit and your customer: 125 g (4.4 oz) for export blueberries, 1 lb or 2 lb for U.S. strawberries, 250–300 g shallow packs for raspberries and blackberries, 400 g to 3 lb for cherries and table grapes, 300–500 g for cherry tomatoes. Then match the clamshell footprint to the flat or tray and pallet pattern your receiver specifies. Send model code, quantity per season and destination port for a quote within 12 hours.
The 125 g (4.4 oz) punnet is the export standard for Peruvian and Chilean blueberries, normally packed 12 to a corrugated flat; 250 g and 500 g serve retail and club programmes.

Vented 1 lb and 2 lb clamshells for the U.S. and Mexican trade (8 × 1 lb or 4 × 2 lb per corrugated tray), plus the square 700 g format used in Europe and Asia.

Shallow bodies so soft berries travel in one or two layers; twin-compartment packs for mixed-berry programmes.

Retail cherry packs for China and Asia programmes and 1 lb to 3 lb grape clamshells for supermarkets and club stores.

Snacking and 1 lb tomato packs, and a long narrow pack for tomatoes on the vine.

Count packs for ready-to-eat avocados and kiwifruit in retail.

| Market | Main clamshell use | Import duty on China-made PET clamshells* | Our view |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peru | Blueberries 125 g, grapes, avocados | Duty-free for most plastic packaging under the China–Peru FTA with certificate of origin | Best fit. Peak blueberry shipping is roughly August to December |
| Chile | Blueberries, cherries, kiwifruit, grapes | Duty-free for most plastic packaging under the China–Chile FTA with certificate of origin | Best fit. Blueberries and cherries run roughly November to March |
| Mexico | Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, tomatoes | Tariffs of up to 35% on many goods from non-FTA countries since January 1, 2026; exporters often import packaging under IMMEX | Good fit for IMMEX exporters; check your programme first |
| United States | Strawberries 1–2 lb, berries, grapes, tomatoes | 3% MFN + 25% Section 301 (List 3) + 12.5% Section 301 since July 24, 2026 | Usually more expensive than U.S.- or Mexico-made clamshells; worth it mainly for custom or hard-to-find formats |

| Vietnam, Philippines | Supermarket fruit, grapes, strawberries | ASEAN–China FTA rates | Served from our Hai Phong and Manila teams |

No. The clamshells are thermoformed by a partner PET factory in Dongguan, China; Fuxing Group handles specification, samples, quality checks and export. What we manufacture ourselves are the corrugated flats, trays and master cartons and the fruit bags that go with the clamshells, so one supplier can quote and load the whole pack in one container.
The 125 g (4.4 oz) clamshell is the most common export unit, usually packed 12 per corrugated flat (1.5 kg of fruit). Programmes for U.S. clubs and some European retailers use 250 g, 500 g (about 18 oz) and 6 oz or pint formats. Always pack to your customer's specification sheet: the receiver fixes the clamshell footprint, the flat and the pallet pattern.
It depends on the destination. Chile and Peru have free trade agreements with China, under which most plastic packaging enters duty-free with a certificate of origin. Mexico raised tariffs on many goods from non-FTA countries, including plastics, from January 1, 2026, so exporters usually import packaging under IMMEX. In the United States, Chinese-origin PET containers (HTS 3923) currently carry Section 301 duties of 25% plus 12.5% on top of 3% MFN duty. Confirm the HS line and current rate with your customs agent before ordering.
Minimums are set per model and confirmed in the quotation; listed models can usually be combined in one container, together with our cartons and bags. Production time is confirmed when you order, and sea transit from South China to Callao or San Antonio is roughly 30 to 40 days, so plan purchases about 10 to 12 weeks before your first harvest.
Yes, a new mould can be made to your drawing, and branding is usually applied with a printed top label rather than on the PET itself. Send the footprint, fill weight and pallet pattern your customer requires; we confirm mould cost and timing in writing before anything is cut.
They are made of PET, the clear plastic used for most fresh-produce clamshells, which is accepted in PET recycling streams in many markets. If your customer requires recycled content (rPET), a specific food-contact declaration or a particular venting pattern, state it in the request for quotation so we can confirm it for the model you choose.
Send the Fuxing code (or your customer's drawing), fill weight, quantity per season, first harvest date and destination port. We reply within 12 hours with drawing, sample plan and quotation, and can quote the corrugated flats and master cartons for the same container.
